Red Wings sign another 2006 draft pick

The Detroit Red Wings signed forward Jan Mursak to a three-year entry-level contract yesterday.

Mursak, 19, was Detroit's sixth-round selection (182nd overall) in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.

Born in Slovenia, he completed his first season in North America with the Ontario Hockey League's Saginaw Spirit, where he scored 27 goals and 53 assists for 80 points in 62 games last season.

Terms of the contract were not disclosed, but Mursak is expected to return to the Spirit next season.
