Wings lose MacDonald to Boston

The Boston Bruins added some goaltending depth on Saturday, claiming Joey MacDonald off waivers from the Detroit Red Wings.

The move will create about $117,000 in salary cap room for the Wings, who are reportedly trying to land a top-six forward by Tuesday's 3:00 p.m. trade deadline.

MacDonald is 1-5-1 this season with a 3.46 goals-against average and .872 save percentage.
