Red Wings extend Holmstrom through 2010

The Detroit Red Wings have signed forward Tomas Holmstrom to a three-year contract extension.

Terms of the contract were not available.

The 34-year-old Holmstrom is currently in his 11th NHL season, all with Detroit. He was the Red Wings' 10th-round selection in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft and has 145 goals and 190 assists for 335 points in 678 games.

Holmstrom has also appeared in 93 playoff games, tallying 54 points.

The 6-foot, 200-pound winger has reached the 20-goal mark in three of his last four NHL seasons, including the current 2006-07 campaign as he has 20 goals and 20 assists for 40 points through 56 games.
