K-Wings make deal with Quad City

The Kalamazoo Wings and Quad City Mallards completed a swap of forwards today.

Going to Quad City is David Herring and coming to Kalamazoo is Jesse Rycroft (pictured right).

“Rycroft has the size and ability to be a productive power forward in this league,” said Wings' GM Paul Pickard. “We feel Jesse fits in to our concept and will continue to strengthen our team.”

The 24-year-old native of Scarborough, Ontario, put up four points in 14 games with the Mallards this season. Prior to turning pro, Rycroft played four years of collegiate hockey at the University of Toronto.

Herring, 22, played last year with the defunct Motor City Mechanics. He tallied four points (all goals) this season with the Wings.
